grumpy git

I was very grumpy today. This was a result of several factors:
1) found mouse droppings in the flat
2) water coming into the bathroom from upstairs (yet again)
3) aches and pains in my back are absolutely killing me
4) didn't get much sleep because of back pain
5) I'm a grumpy sod anyway - so why break the habit of a lifetime?

Other than this - I was a joy to behold (as my dear wife kept telling me). She's remembering that when I don't get sleep I'm not a lot of fun to be around.

I took 2 of the little horrors to clambers this morning - meeting up with Grace's friend Emily from nursery. This went well, until Emily had to go - at which point both Joseph and Grace turned into children from hell.....it's amazing how quickly children have this ability - one minute they are playing nicely and they are the apple of your eye...the next...and for no good reason, you'd be quite happy throwing them off a tall building.

The day did get better - Catrin took Grace for her swim- so I took JoJo & Poppy in buggy down to work where Poppy met some of my colleagues who didn't seem too bothered to put their work to one side. I then went into swanky new offices for Edinburgh Council to register her birth (with Joseph). Wow! What an improvement! The place was in serious need of a facelift when the parliament was there - but they've done a really good job and restored the place to its former glory...miles better than the place I now work....

Got wet on the way home as it started to rain - and of course I hadn't got the raincover for the buggy (and even if I had, I expect I probably wouldn't have been able to get the sodding thing on). Joseph was less than impressed.
